Please read this carefully. weightrakkr is a personal tracking tool, not a medical service. Nothing in the App, including AI-generated responses, constitutes medical, nutritional, clinical, or psychological advice.
1. Not a medical service
weightrakkr is a personal productivity tool designed to help you log, visualise, and reflect on your body weight and dietary intake. We are not a healthcare provider, registered dietitian, nutritionist, psychologist, or any other licensed health professional.
The App, its features, its AI-generated responses, and any information presented within it:
- Do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Do not constitute nutritional or dietetic advice
- Do not constitute psychological or mental health advice
- Are not a substitute for professional medical opinion
- Have not been reviewed or approved by any regulatory body (including the FDA, EMA, or the MHRA) as a medical device or service
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise routine, medication, or any other aspect of your health management.
2. Calorie and nutrition estimates
AI food scan estimates
The food scan feature uses artificial intelligence to estimate the calorie and macronutrient content of a meal from a photograph. These estimates:
- Are approximations only — actual nutritional content can vary by ±20–40% or more depending on portion size, preparation method, and ingredient variation
- Are generated by a third-party AI model (Anthropic's Claude) that has not been clinically validated as a dietary measurement tool
- Should not be used for medical nutrition therapy, clinical dietary management, or any purpose requiring precise nutritional measurement
- May be systematically inaccurate for certain food categories, culturally specific dishes, or restaurant portions
Manual calorie entries that you type in are only as accurate as the data source you use. We do not verify or validate any calorie data you enter.
TDEE and goal calculations
The Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) calculator provides an estimated calorie target based on standard equations (such as the Mifflin-St Jeor formula). These estimates are population averages and may differ significantly from your actual metabolic rate. A registered dietitian can provide a personalised assessment.
3. Weight tracking
weightrakkr records the weight values you enter and presents them as trends over time. Please be aware:
- Daily weight fluctuations of 1–3 kg are normal and reflect water retention, digestive contents, hormonal cycles, and other factors unrelated to fat loss or gain. Short-term trends may not reflect actual changes in body composition.
- The trend line and moving average displayed in the App are mathematical calculations based on your entries — they are visual tools, not clinical assessments.
- Progress projections (such as estimated time to reach goal weight) are mathematical extrapolations based on recent trends. They assume conditions remain constant, which rarely happens. Do not treat them as guarantees or clinical predictions.
- Body weight alone is an incomplete measure of health. It does not account for muscle mass, bone density, hydration status, cardiovascular fitness, or many other clinically significant factors.
4. Nora AI companion
Nora is not a doctor, dietitian, or therapist. She is an AI system that generates responses based on your logged data and general knowledge. Her responses have not been reviewed by healthcare professionals and may be incorrect, outdated, or inapplicable to your situation.
When using Nora:
- Do not rely on Nora's responses to make medical, clinical, or pharmacological decisions
- Do not use Nora as a substitute for professional dietary counselling, particularly if you have a medical condition
- Nora's meal plans, macronutrient recommendations, and workout suggestions are general informational content — they are not individualised prescriptions
- Nora may occasionally generate inaccurate information with apparent confidence. Always verify important claims with a qualified professional or reliable source
- Nora is not equipped to handle mental health crises, eating disorder-related distress, or medical emergencies — see Section 8
5. Individual variation
Human physiology varies enormously between individuals. Information presented in the App — whether from general references, AI-generated content, or population-based calculations — is not tailored to your specific:
- Medical history and diagnoses
- Current medications (which may affect metabolism, weight, appetite, or nutrient absorption)
- Hormonal status
- Genetic factors
- Activity level and type
- Age, sex, and body composition
- Digestive health and nutritional needs
A calorie target or dietary approach that works well for one person may be inappropriate or harmful for another. Please consult a qualified professional who can account for your individual circumstances.
6. Specific health conditions
If you have any of the following conditions, you should consult your healthcare provider before using this App to set calorie targets, track weight, or make dietary changes based on its data:
- Eating disorders (including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or ARFID) — calorie tracking and weight monitoring apps may be contraindicated for people in recovery or at risk
- Diabetes or pre-diabetes — dietary needs and carbohydrate goals require medical supervision
- Cardiovascular disease — dietary and exercise changes should be medically supervised
- Kidney or liver disease — macronutrient requirements may differ significantly from standard guidelines
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding — calorie and nutritional needs are substantially different and should be guided by a midwife or obstetrician
- Thyroid conditions or other metabolic disorders — weight fluctuations and calorie needs may be atypical
- Any condition for which a healthcare provider has prescribed a specific diet
This list is not exhaustive. When in doubt, consult your doctor.
7. When to consult a professional
Consider speaking to a qualified healthcare professional if:
- You are experiencing unintentional weight loss or gain
- You are concerned about your relationship with food, eating, or body image
- You want to follow a very low calorie diet (below approximately 1,200 kcal/day for women or 1,500 kcal/day for men)
- You plan to make significant changes to your macronutrient ratios (e.g. ketogenic diet, very high protein intake)
- You are starting a new exercise programme, particularly if you have a chronic condition
- You have not seen a doctor in more than a year and are making significant lifestyle changes
- Any data in the App is causing you significant anxiety or distress
Qualified professionals who can assist with diet and weight management include: registered dietitians (RDs), general practitioners (GPs), endocrinologists, and sports medicine physicians.
8. Emergencies
If you are in a medical emergency
Call your local emergency services immediately (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US). weightrakkr cannot provide emergency assistance.
